- I’d seen posts about systems with two stars, how about three! (P.s. I’m new to the game by a week - if this isn’t rare I’m sorry!)
- My Opinion as a New Player (Long Post)
- By far the most disappointing moment during my NMS experience.
- Welp, there's a hint if I've ever seen one.

My Opinion as a New Player (Long Post) Posted: 31 Dec 2020 01:55 AM PST I have put a fairly large amount of time into the game since Christmas when I got it on sale (25:43 playtime) and, I gotta say, this is definitely one of my favorite games of all time. I simply love the absolute freedom of flying through space, finding all new planets and new people and new experiences. Every single time you turn around, there's something new, or something old has a new use, or you can LITERALLY HAVE AN ARMY OF SHIPS TO DO YOUR BIDDING. There's simply so, so, so much to do, and it doesn't throw it all in your face. In fact, the game goes out of its way to not teach you about many things, such as how to learn languages, or where to buy new tools/ships, or even what upgrades are necessary for progression. You have to learn these things, among others, completely by yourself, which is absolutely beautiful. You have the freedom of choice to do absolutely whatever you want. You want to pop over 3 systems over to see a friend's base? You wanna commit space piracy, or help others from being robbed? You wanna be a universe-wide capitalist, trading items between systems like you're on the Silk Road? Hell, you wanna fight robots while being on fire? All of these things are not only available to you, but after a certain point are literally commonplace, which is just amazing. My absolute favorite thing though? The planets. I understand that the entire point of the game is that each planet is something new, but I am one of those people that overanalyzes everything, and each planet I just *have* to fully explore for my own sanity. I absolutely love reading every little tooltip and description about the creatures, and the best part? It's all accurate. Of course the creatures here are evolved to withstand the cold and eat mostly meat, they live in -142 degrees Farenheit on a barren wasteland. These creatures literally consume the heat around them to survive, because they live on a planet that is literally on fire for most of the day. Their evolutions (although sometimes fairly repetitive) are accurate to the planets they live on, and making the connections is something I will never get tired of. All in all, I have to say this is one of, if not the best game I've ever played that isn't on the SNES. There's just so much to do, and so much time to do it. I'm gonna sound like IGN here, but it really does have a little something for everyone. 11/10, I have recommended it to 4 people and 3 of them have gotten it. [link] [comments] | ||
