Posted: 05 Jun 2020 05:05 AM PDT So as you all know cross play is very close to being live. Xbox and PC players will share the universe online. For explorers like me who have been hoping for a major procgen overhaul this might sound disappointing. But hear me out. There still is this unknown dlc in the pipeline which recently has been discovered on the steamdb. I find it to be highly likely that it's going to be an option to chose between the current and a new universe with a heavily improved procgen. This could either be paid dlc or another free branch just like VR. When you boot up the game you can choose wether you want to start in the current or new iteration. In this way Hello games would have solved the problem of destroying bases with a hard reset for everyone. This would also make sense according to the weekend mission lore talking about a parallel dimension in need of materials (which basically represent data input) to build itself. Some folks out there have found their favourite places which they don't want to lose. They can stay in their universe while players focused on exploration can have a fresh experience. With the patent for the superformular having been expired since May, this could mean that the procgen might unfold its full potential. I know it's speculation but it all makes so much sense.
