- Just Started A New Game, First Time Off World And I See This Amazing View
- My cute little research station/Research rig
- The things you read in space stations these days.
- Found this while browsing on google, not entirely accurate, but i did get a good chuckle out of it
- Disembodied satanic screaming head freaked me the hell out
- Every new update...
- Finally, an earth like planet with no sentinels, no bad weather, perfect resources, and a perfect research economy with low threat level. Welcome to Eden.
- Finally have a working text slider, will add more switches so I can have more characters
- Tiny House
- There is no life... Ḯ̷͇͙̍̉N̶̞͎͊̓ ̵̡̲̳̖̌̇͗̓T̸͚̰̈́̐͋͊H̷͍͂̌̏͒Ę̴͖̋ ̴͙͉͓̾̎̀̉V̶̱̞̍̔̀͜Ö̸̖͈̤̺́̎͝I̴̮͓͒͐Ḑ̶̟̻̉̄̎̈́
- Can we all just pretend we’re here instead of stuck in our homes.. (no sentinels and very rare dangerous fauna)
- When you're playing permadeath and aren't paying attention to your jetpack charge
- Good Morning Euclidean Travellers
- Hyperdrive technology and module placement for maximum hyperdrive range
- My phone wallpaper
- First mining rig, I love this game
- Exohanger. Got bored and made a fancy hanger for my mech
- Just casual baking...
- Now all that's left is a spooky space station
- An opinion on the NMS world variety.
- That's a little over my budget.
- I think I found the perfect planet! No sentinels, peacfull fauna, beautiful mountains and forests, ancient bones and almost no storms!
- My Mech Vibing
- Snapped this gem the other day.

An opinion on the NMS world variety. Posted: 09 Apr 2020 11:14 PM PDT The worlds of each type look pretty much the same. Scan a planet from space and you already know what it's going to look like before even landing on it. NMS made a huge mistake when it became the "one of the six planet types diceroll". There's the ice world. Every ice world has trees. Why? I'd love to see a truly frozen wasteland with icy lakes, ponds, frozen rivers maybe, huge icy mountains that take ages to climb. And it should be snowing all the time. Throw in better atmospheric effects, maybe a grey sky. Then there's the desert world. Every desert planet has cacti. Why? I would love to see a pure desert with no flora or fauna at all. I know we gotta get carbon/oxygen/di-hydrogen somehow, but I wish they found a way to get that done without slapping that resource spot in the middle of nowhere ruining the immersion. Next up is the toxic world. Every toxic world is pretty much green, has the same flora, basically you know what it's going to look like when you scan it from space. Etc., etc. Have some planets be completely flat. Have some planets be extremely diverse terrain height wise, and I mean EXTREMELY. It seems like NMS is afraid to really push the terrain generation to the extreme. I made a picture of what I mean: https://i.imgur.com/W6dGVS9.jpg Make some parts of the planet flat, some parts of the planet extremely varying in height. Don't give the planet the same height variation everywhere, it discourages exploration. Use more bright and extreme colors as it was in NMS 1.0. How about combining some planet biomes together? Have half a planet be icy and the other half be hot. Have biome variation every couple kilometers. I guess it all comes down to the procgen algorithm. They did a step forward with the continents becoming a real thing and having seemingly endless oceans though, I must admit. [link] [comments] | ||
