This is the second frozen planet I’ve found that doesn’t have Christmas trees covering the whole planet in my 300 hours of playtime

YSK: If you're scrapping a ship with upgrades, dismantle them first

Just decided to scrap my almost starter ship. It was a B class explorer with a ton of upgrades (full hyperdrive, phase beam, positron, etc). I figured it was time for an experiment to see if upgrades matter.

Went to the station, auto saved, and scrapped the ship as is all upgrades intact. 8.2 million, one B Class upgrade, a storage module, and parts. Not bad.

Reloaded my game, stripped all the upgrades down for parts. Half a million worth of wiring looms and other assorted metals. Went back to the terminal and scrapped again. The results were exactly the same. 8.2 million, same upgrade and slot, same parts.

Tried a reload and a couple more just to be sure. Same results, with or without upgrades. So, it makes better sense to dismantle everything for the supplies than to just lose them in the ether.
