How about this kind of missions in NMS? (Please read) Posted: 08 Nov 2019 04:48 AM PST Imagine warping into a system. There's an abandoned station right in front of you, and a mission marker is pulsating from its entrance. You fly inside and land. Get out of your ship. Scanning your surroundings reveals that the mission marker is somewhere around 200 units below your current position at the landing pads. You start looking for a stairway or an elevator to get down there, and finally find a long ladder that leads downstairs. You descend. There's a terminal you can interact with, and it shows you protocols of the inhabitants, who seem to have been killed by a new, rare race of biological horrors. The plan was to let the station, its inhabitants and the horrors crash to the surface of the nearby planet to make sure these beasts would immediately die and not leave the station alive, but it seems no one survived long enough to push the button. After the dialogue screen closes, you hear screeching and the sound of a few dozens of stomping feet and clicking claws that come closer. The terminal activates itself one last time and lets you choose between "continue" or "better get my ass outta here". On selecting "continue", the terminal thanks for initiating the self-destruction sequence. It also initiates a countdown of 5 minutes, and the whole station starts shaking and tumbling, moving closer to the atmosphere of the nearby planet. The hole in the ceiling that leads to the ladder that brought you down here closes, and you realize you are pretty f***ed. You now have 5 minutes left to
Your reward is the quicksilver you can refine from the dead bodies of the horrors and a certain amount of units (in case you didn't kill any horrors), and if you don't make it in five minutes and die, you spawn at the terminal BEFORE the self-destruction sequence is initiated and can choose to either try again or leave the station. Thoughts? [link] [comments] | ||
