@ HelloGames: A virtual guestbook, a shareable storage device and a tip jar for bases. A way to avoid places spammed with comm balls, an option for indirectly trading with other players and a way to say thank you. Thoughts?

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 02:27 AM PST

    The ideas behind this:

    1. The virtual guest book for bases: please implement a device or item you can build at your base where other players can leave messages all in ONE place instead of spamming your area or planet with comm balls. Plus, an option in the settings to prevent other players from building comm balls at least in the radius of claimed terrain around your base computer.
    2. A storage device to share items or resources with other players: please implement an additional storage box with let's say five slots where we can store items or resources in the stack size of the general exosuit inventory and share it with others. Either by making it accessible through a code, choosing an "accessible for friends only" option in the settings, or generally open to everyone. In that way, we could make a first step into an actual player-driven economy and improve the multiplayer aspect. In addition, we could also transfer units, nanites or even quicksilver into one of the slots and invite others who are short in one of the currencies.
    3. A tip jar for bases: please implement a device or item where we can "tip" base owners for sharing their farming resources with us, or to pay for items or resources taken out of the object described in 2. Would require the ability to transfer units, nanites, or quicksilver.

How about this kind of missions in NMS? (Please read)

    Posted: 08 Nov 2019 04:48 AM PST

    Imagine warping into a system.

There's an abandoned station right in front of you, and a mission marker is pulsating from its entrance. You fly inside and land. Get out of your ship. Scanning your surroundings reveals that the mission marker is somewhere around 200 units below your current position at the landing pads.

You start looking for a stairway or an elevator to get down there, and finally find a long ladder that leads downstairs.

    You descend.

There's a terminal you can interact with, and it shows you protocols of the inhabitants, who seem to have been killed by a new, rare race of biological horrors. The plan was to let the station, its inhabitants and the horrors crash to the surface of the nearby planet to make sure these beasts would immediately die and not leave the station alive, but it seems no one survived long enough to push the button.

After the dialogue screen closes, you hear screeching and the sound of a few dozens of stomping feet and clicking claws that come closer.

The terminal activates itself one last time and lets you choose between "continue" or "better get my ass outta here". On selecting "continue", the terminal thanks for initiating the self-destruction sequence. It also initiates a countdown of 5 minutes, and the whole station starts shaking and tumbling, moving closer to the atmosphere of the nearby planet. The hole in the ceiling that leads to the ladder that brought you down here closes, and you realize you are pretty f***ed.

You now have 5 minutes left to

    1. Find a way through seemingly endless corridors and stairways that lead you back upstairs to the landing pad level.
    2. Escape from a new, aggressive and challenging kind of biological horrors that chase you on your way up, or ,if you're equipped enough, pewpew them into pieces (and collect a resource from their bodies that can be refined into quicksilver).
    3. Reach your ship and exit the station before it crashes on the surface.

Your reward is the quicksilver you can refine from the dead bodies of the horrors and a certain amount of units (in case you didn't kill any horrors), and if you don't make it in five minutes and die, you spawn at the terminal BEFORE the self-destruction sequence is initiated and can choose to either try again or leave the station.

    Thoughts?
