    Water in No Man's Sky could use some love... Two words. Gerstner Waves.

    For those who don't know about "Gerstner Waves", or "Trochoidal Waves", a quick Google search can explain the nitty gritty, but for those who want the short and sweet, if you've played Subnautica, you've seen the surface of the water in the game. That is Gerstner Waves. It's not easy to code, but it should be a cakewalk for Hello Games.

    A lot of us miss the original aesthetic of No Man's Sky, but one thing I think even those who prefer the new art direction (which is still wonderful of course) can agree with is that the water in No Man's Sky could use a bit of love... It was never especially great, but it looks a lot like paint...

    The team over at Hello Games is some of, if not the most talented in the industry. I think Gerstner waves would be a wonderful addition and massive improvement to the water in the game. (A new shader would be welcomed too of course!)

    (As far as performance is concerned, I think it could be an option to have on or off in the settings menu)

    I'm curious to hear your thoughts! :)
