Claiming a base should give us an option to flatten the ground around the base computer

Back during both Foundations and Pathfinder, you actually couldn't build a base anywhere you wanted to. You could only build bases in designated areas, these designated areas were already flat. So when you built your base it always looked nice. What I don't like about the current base building is that the terrain around a spot you selected because you like the view isn't always nice and flat. I am proposing that setting down a base computer should give us an option to flatten the ground around the base computer and also give us an option to select how large of a radius around the base computer we want to flatten.

Sometimes I imagine this landing pad area filled with cheering interlopers and myself with a mic and guitar, shaking my ass and singing Blue Suede Shoes. "Well it's a run for the units, life support low, three to get nanites now go Gek go...!" ️

I know this probably goes against the game's vision, but I would honestly be more immersed if they let some planets have multiple biomes.

I guess the idea is that they didn't want players to have everything they needed on one planet and then not explore the rest of the universe. But honestly, I feel that that would draw me in even more as a player. I'd love to be able to walk around a grassy/forest area for 20 minutes, and then randomly come across an expansive field of desert or ice/snow. I wouldn't even care if the planet had the same 14 fauna cross the whole thing. But yeah, having everything I need on one planet in terms of desired vistas wouldn't make me bored and pull me away from the game. It would honestly do the exact opposite for me in fact. Is there some kind of technological limitation to this though that prevents it from being a thing? But yeah, what are you guys' thoughts?

Edit: and if the not wanting to explore the rest of the universe is a concern, they could even make these theoretical multi-biomed planets only appear past the first galaxy. That way, those planets would simply be a reward for players who have already experienced the game.
